‘providing and promoting contemporary art in the South West’

‘Who are they then…?’

swa cic (south west art work) was set up three years ago to offer recent graduates of art and design a chance to exhibit their work within their hometown instead of having to travel to city areas in order to establish themselves.

Co-founders Ed Jones and Laura Mulhern are dedicated to promoting contemporary art in the South West as they themselves are emerging artists who are juggling full time work as well as personal art exploration.

Both have graduated from an arts based degree from various institutions around Britain, but have remained in their hometown of Weymouth & Portland since and are keen to become established in their local area.

Having successfully produced previous exhibitions in exciting and sometimes challenging venues such as St Peters Church on Portland and Brewers Quay in Weymouth they are excited about their next venture of exhibiting within Sutton Poyntz Pumping Station this Christmas 2008.

As we are drawing ever closer to the 2012 Olympics, swa cic are steadfast in establishing their work within the local area of Weymouth & Portland in order to promote to the various talents they have to offer especially focused within the contemporary field. Having also been awarded CIC status, swa cic continue to focus on providing and promoting contemporary art for and by the local and wider community.
